Nice looking bit of gear, do they fit the 4.0L engine, how much are they and where do you get them, I just replaced the pinion gear clutch on my standard (Bosch, I think) starter motor, I noticed while apart the plastic case that holds the reduction gears was cracked, I Super glued together, but am not keen on Plastic case supporting reduction gears Regards Frank.

I've got one on my 4.4. It's been great done heaps of work.
The mounting holes didn't line up on intial install, so I had to drag one.

Well i ilnstalled the new starter and its great kinda sounds like a truck starter massive difference in size and the amount of current it draws is nothing compard to the old one.

Tim,

So would I need the Leyland P76 for a 94 V8i Disco? They look cool and so much less smaller than the Lucas g..bage!

My thoughts too ive just rebuilt a magneti marrielli and replaced the old lucas slug i rekon i could have wound the 4.4 over faster with a crank handle than the cr@py old lucas ....

Tho the high tourq jobbie looks tha goods and at that price its competitive with the magnetti as there around the 300 mark and then the cheaper prestolight is cheaper again tho its not as good as the magnetti
