Heya guys wasn't quite sure where to put this thread so will start hear ;)
My old man and i are about to start restoring a 1969 Jag E-type Coupe... she's blue, auto, a 2+2 and got the 4.2L straight 6... oh and hasn't been started in 20 years or so.
So what do you think needs replacing before we do anything?
Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated :D
Cheers in advance

I'm no mechanic but I do my own DIY services etc so I can't help too much with advice except check out Mark Evans website :

he fully restores an e-type you can get a DVD, he's done loads of other stuff too most famously "A 4x4 is born" <--- absolute classic
Anyhow I would also like to say, you lucky %$#@&*(
The e-type is without doubt the best looking car of all time. Even Enzo Ferrari said "it's the car he wished Ferrari had built" or some thing like that.
Has it got the four pipes out the back centre? they looks sooooo cool.

she's going in for back to metal paint job now as the last one done 20 years ago has all cracked and bubbled... luckily the original mob are doing it again for nothing as they're one of the best around and can't believe it happened.
will try to grab a couple picks this am before the truck picks it up

I restored my old 1962 MK2, 3.8 Manual over about 4 years with my Dad, dose'nt matter where you start, it's all xpensive and time consuming:D, had a blast thouugh, learnt a lot, good father and son thing, the body is easily the most important thing, everything else is relatively easy, expensive but easy., gotta start with a good body though, mine had two rust spots in the whoe car and i still burnt $7.5k on the body...boy did it look good when finished though.
