Hi - I know I could just a get a snorkel, but deep water crossings aren't really my thing and the jury is out on whether snorkels actually restrict airflow compared to most standard factory set-ups. Therefore I'm looking to set up a 'cold air' intake to the front (which I can put a foam snorkel sock over in dusty conditions) or put vents into the guards as per the way the new Freelander breathes - and then block the LHS vent in dusty conditions or if going through water. Any ideas?

thought I'd rekindle this one to see if I can get a response...and to ask another question!
Does the wire mesh before the airflow meter in a Td5 air intake serve any real purpose? It won't stop dust, only larger objects from taking out the sensor, and how are larger objects going to get past the air filter? Mine had a fair bit of gunk on it, so I've removed it temporarily, and am wondering whether I really need it or whether I should clean it up and put it back...

Talk to Hardy on here who has a P38 with some serious mods......he did something creative with his air intake from memory. I saw that a while back now so he should have some decent "field reports" by now.

It's funny you should ask this, on the weekend i was talking to a guy whos brother has an 03 TD5 Disco, he has a pod filter setup on his, but can't tell you who did it or where.
He's on a Terracan forum, i'll PM him and get the info.
