G'day all,
I want to do some patching up of some minor corrosion on my door panels etc. on my '94 Defender. I've just spent the last 30 mins looking for the paint code under the bonnet but can't find it - does anyone know where it should be?
I found a nice plaque under the bonnet on the drivers side behind the brake master cylinder (I believe it is) that had a section for Paint and a section for Trim - both of which were kindly blank.
Any ideas?

Mate I would have told you to look where you've already looked and come up blank :( As a long shot would it be in the owners manual?

Could it be on a RAVE cd?

Couldn't find anything in the RAVE about paint codes but I did find this in google: Landrover Paint Codes (http://www.bloodvale.com/temp/LR_Farbtabelle.pdf)
OK originally I got it from a German site so maybe it's more specific to Europe but I hope it helps someone.

My 110 (county) has the codes behind the clutch MC on the firewall.
If you can't find the code, surely you can find some pictures on the web that correspond with the paint you have and work it out from there?
Failing that, just take the landie to a (trade) paint place and they can match it. If you are doing a partial repaint, it is likely that the paint has faded anyway, so matching it to the existing paint may be better than going off the code.
If you want the codes for Masai red or Ivory White, let me know.

Most of the Land Rover paint codes are listed on this site:

According to that site - the only (non metallic) blue used in '94 (apart from special vehicles) was:
Arles, Windjammer, Pacific Blue 90-97 LRC.424
Arles, Windjammer, Pacific Blue 90-97 LRC.424(VI)
If metallic then there is a choice of 5

When I bought my fender there was a small can of touch up paint with a paint colour number and a Land Rover logo on it in the console which matched the red colour of the vehicle. I bought a set of roof racks and thought I would spray them the same colour.
So off I trot to the spray paint warehouse in Five Dock which I was told stock all the paint colours under the sun. The guy puts the numbers on the can through the computer and comes up blank. He tried a few different sites both official and unoffical and ended up going through some sample patches up against the vehicle to match it.
The racks look OK and match the fender so all ended up OK.

Yep just looking at the PPG database and 424 is the code Arles or Windjammer Blue
I can mix up 500ml if you like either two-pack (you may need clear to go over the make shiney) or acrylic

Hi Stevo,
The color is Coniston Green (570).
Only available until 1998.
The Link "Paul" put up is something i use daily, it is very good & almost all of his data is correct;)
I say this because on his chart he mentions your color until 93 only.:(
There are some small minor glitches but otherwise a great reference point.:):)
Something for Moderators possibly to put on the site for a quick reference point to a paint chart as someone most times will be after a paint code & on the column to the left is the code (3 digits) & is very helpful.

Weeds, Any chance of a care package? I don't supose u can post the stuff round the countryside eh?
