Hey All
Does anyone else with a D2 have noisy Climate Control?! Mine sounds fine when the fan is on the first or second setting, but when you crank it up on a cold morning or when its hot it honestly sounds like a twin engined Cessna taxiing down the run way! I have check my brother in laws disco and his doesn't make this sound.
It had always worked this way since I got it (2nd hand) and it seems to work fine, but it just makes a lot of noise. Anyone else have this problem? Is it easy to fix? I have heard that to get at the fan unit you have to take out the whole dash & everything!

I don't run mine on the auto setting as it does sound like a 747 taking off.
I just have the fan on 1 or 2 constantly and set the temp manually.

It could be that a piece of paper or other cab detritus has been sucked into the fan wheel & is fouling as it spins.
On the 95MY D1 the fan simply drops out from under the dash. Don't know about D2 but can't see why Rover would make it hard to do. Yeah, right.:D

Do you have RAVE? According to RAVE, take out kick panel, glove box and the following:
4. Disconnect multiplugs from blower motor.
5. Remove 8 bolts securing passenger side of
fascia panel.
6. Carefully ease fascia away from bulkhead
7. Remove 3 bolts securing blower motor support
bracket and remove bracket.
8. Remove 2 nuts securing motor assembly.
9. Release blower motor assembly from heater
and manoeuvre from under fascia.
