Hi All,

I'm currently looking at having a 1999 TD5 Disco engine re-map and am looking for some advise.

1) Being an early TD5, the ECU needs to be modified. What are the issues with getting a change over ECU or should I have my existing ECU modified? (unknown heritage vs known heritage)

2) What are the differences as there seems to be some large discrepancies in costs between LR specialists?

Thanks

My 99 manual TD5 Disco was. In the UK a revised ecu was installed under warranty for owners who complained about it.

Send a fela called Tombraider a pm, he may be able to assist you with some info. It may take a while for him to get back to you as he works shift work, but is a wealth of knowledge on this very subject.
I am dreaming of the day I can afford to see him.:D:D

Have a look on EBAY for a replacement ECU (they do come up). Then send that to toomby and get him to upgrade it. That way you have a path back to stock if you want. I did this.

I must say though I've been very happy with the re-map and the original ECU hasn't been back in the car :D:D

His ECU upgrade is reasonably priced and the result is just awesome. Best money I have spent on the Disco TD5.
