G'day all Im after an idea of what wire does what on my TPS it has a brown wire, a green wire and a blue wire. I need to find out which one is the ground which one is the sensor and which one is the positive 5 volts. Any help would be appreciated greatly. I have found the wiring for the TPS with the red yellow and black wires but can't find this one. Thanks

G`day Thomas

Can`t help but someone with a wiring diagram for a mid 90s Disco can .

I have one in the shed same colours came from a 96 Disco .

If you had Red , Yellow , Green or Red/Black , Red , Yellow , ie Range Rover i could help .

I can tell you ECU pin 3 , 20 and 25 are used but that doesn`t help with colours .

I did look on my Rave but it shows a round connector , if we`re talk the same the one you have is rectangular .

Cheers

Yeah thats the one. I think im going to have to get the one with the red black yellow. My rave is the same thing it has the red bleck one in it. Its the last thing I need for my Haltech install and its driving me nuts. Thanks

Won`t help with colour but ECU pin

3 is output/reference

20 is input

25 is ground

Maybe able to work it out from the resistance at the TPs

Cheers

Yeah i tested the resistance between a few combos of wires and i wrote them down but its down the shed and it's very cold:). I will post them up tomorrow and see what happens.

Use a multimeter and its easy. It is simply a resistor with a pickup in the middle...

ie _|~~~~~~~|~~~~~~~~|_

where the middle bit moves up and down the scale. Measure it with the tps half way and find the two pairs that give the same reading (forward and bakcward through the whole resistor). These wires are 5v and 0v. the other is the signal.

Aha I think I get it. Thank you very much I will try that tomorrow.

Ok I have finally worked it out. On a 95-on Disco the TPS wires are Blue = Ground, Green = Sensor, Brown = +5V DC. Thanks everyone for your input.
