View Full Version : Ahem...I have an announcement to make
Scouse
19th July 2007, 02:23 PM
It is with great pleasure that Mr & Mrs Scouse announce the arrival of our first baby, a boy :):).
He was born after a fairly long (and painful) labour on the 13th of July in Liverpool Hospital.
After seeing what the poor ladies go through with childbirth, I have the utmost resepect for them. I am so proud of Leslie for holding it all together in what must have been the worst & best day of her life.
Mother & son are now doing fine & arrived home last night. Father is still recovering ;).

Congratulations, well done!!
Now remember, the RR has feelings and may feel threatened by the new addition to the family. There may be occasional liquid control issues, whining or tantrums. A little maintenance & the occasional one on one drive will comfort the RR & will ensure it remembers it is part of the family. :D:D
In time, the RR will acknowledge and take care of the newbie [insert name here when known]. :p

Hi Mark & Deb,
We were expecting a biggish baby judging by what was said during the ultrasounds, they said he was around 7.5lbs on the last which was only 8 days before it all happened.
At the weigh-in after he was born, he was only 2.97kg (6.5/6.6lbs) so he was a fair bit smaller than anticipated.
Leslie tried all that was available, eventually getting an epidural (which is another story ) before finding out that the little guy was jammed in her pelvis & wasn't going anywhere.
Luckily a doctor realised what was going on as the midwife was just getting Leslie to push more & more. The outcome was a code red caesarian. Luckily the epidural took effect so Leslie didn't have to go right under.
Leslie was in from Friday to Wednesday - let's hope the next one goes a little more smoothly.

Congratulations. I hope they didn't let her go to long before the intervened.
With Lachlan Karen went through 26 hours of labor before they performed an emergency cesarean. Then 2 weeks later back to have the wound scraped and restitched as the stitches had failed and then the surgical glue and steri strip repairs failed also.:angrylock:
She will forget my other half was still willing to go again even when they told her it had to be cesarian again due to the damage from last time.

That was what Deb had all 3 time the epidural (i couldnt think of the name before) Deb had gestational Diabetes with all the pregnancies and had to be brought on 2 weeks early each time or the babies would have been to big. Was the some complications when they did the epidural, we had been warned of the complications that could come with them.

So far, so good. He's getting around 4 hrs sleep between feeds so we can't complain too much.
Thanks for the name suggestions but we're down to Owen or Ross. It shouldn't be long now before we've decided :wallbash:.
I shall sink a few Guinness's for the infant this evening
once again congratulations from T&PThanks Tony & Pandora. A beer is what you have at a nice quiet moment, isn't it ?
I'll have to think back & remember those :(.
Congratulations Scott & Leslie, by the time summer comes around he should be right for camping etc.
MartynYep, we want to get him out into the real world ASAP. We'll just play it by ear though. The sooner, the better :).
Do you know what caused it?NFI, I might have to wonder into the Mudpit & see if there's any clues there !!
Congratulations, Scotty & Leslie, you'll have to get him one of those model Landies to get him started.
DaveWhy ? There's a driveway full of the real size ones he can play with :p.
They are just great aren't they - congrats mate,
..........and don't spoil the mite ...........too much:DWe've heard a few horror stories about over mothered babies. There's no way we want to have a baby who needs a certain way to get to sleep for the next few years .
Congrats to the scouse clan and good to see you got it rite and scored a boy for the first child :D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Mate ive got a baby seat/capsual post for the floor of the rangie its yours if you need it :D:D:DWe're just happy that we have a healthy baby. Boy or girl didn't really matter but I guess a boy is better for helping fix the Rangies .
I have a restraint bar that I'm hoping I can fit to the cargo barrier. I might just take you up on that Chris if it doesn't work out, thanks.
