Having just read the probs with DarrenW's heater,I now need some help.
Once car has warmed up and I put the heater on,I can feel the heat(by hand by the trans tunnel) for about 10 seconds:) then it starts to go cold.It does not matter whether the car has been running for 5 min or 1/2 hr:mad::mad:,its still the same.Unless the outside temp is above 15*,my heater is as useless as tits on a bull.Have taken the heater hose connections off and flushed the heater out numerous times,but it still doesn't want to work properly.Alot of brown gunk(mud/dirt) came out of it.
My mates tdi(4 cars off the prod line from mine),works brilliantly.
When I bought the vehicle I think the previous owner cooked the engine ,cause it had a new head and various sundry bits.
Am thinking of putting some bi-carb soda down into the heater(how much do u put into a tdi to give it a clean???:question:)for a cupla days.Have also heard that coke cola will also give a good clean(put into resevour tank) for a short time(ten mins),then drain,refill,start donk for 5 mins,drain then refill with coolant added.
