Sorry if this has been done, but i would like to commend Craig on his letter to 4wd monthly in the latest issue actually speaking some truth about land rovers instead of the usual tripe. :D

Hi just had a letter printed in the letters section correcting a few mistakes re a reply to a letter a while back that told a reader the Tdi's had timing chains istead of belts and then told the reader of that letter to ignore all the Toyo/Nissan anti land rover brigade and actually ask people who own them. Ah, saw the letter, but didn't relate it to the author being here. I think we should all write in monthly about Landies just to annoy them...I was tempted to pen a letter re the fun we had on the shed, but decided it wasn't worth my time as they'd never publish it.

I spent considerable time today voting for every landy i could find in there, Darthrover is at the top followed by about 20 other landies in the top 30.
Oh, and nice AULRO plug in the letter to craig, well done. :D

Thanks guys,
Saw it this morning reading 4x4 Monthly on the plane back to Esperance. Just got back from a fire fighting course and off again Sunday to re sit Industrial Paramedic component. Slightly edited but pretty much as intended. Good to see a a mag actually being reasonablly factual where possible and generally not following the unfounded bias against Land Rovers. The Disco review was not to bad. Good to see Max's Tusker in there too.
Maybe Jamo and me will have to team up and do a double vehicle review and an Esperance area review.:D
Could not resist the mistake about timing chains and just showed some journo's do not know what they are writing and had to give aulro a plug, as a lot of info I have learned has come from this site.:)
Have had two letters and two pics (Disco 97 first and Defender and Rangie second) now printed in 4x4 monthly and still have not got the prize yet;)
Also did a small article on Cave Hill in WA some time ago for 4x4 Australia.
All good. Lets see lots more of AULRO vehicles in the mag.

Ron,
It was via email from work. Will not be back on site for another 2 weeks. Any way hopefully this scan will work.

I 'd be upset at the editors remark.
Theres no reason to do that unless its tit for tat about the incorrect info.
obviously doesn't NEED LR owners to buy the mag.

I have taken no offence to the eds remarks. Seem to be pretty tongue in cheek to me. We all say that sort of stuff about our own LRs. I take it as a bit of a compliment when he says its saved them doing a used review. At least this mag is giving LR's a fair go (well maybe except Roothy). There have been some really good LR features lately. The miss information comes from journos who do not completely research their info and this happens in most mags. This mag has 4 LR vehicles in their stable at the moment as well and they are doing up an early Rangie from scratch as a feature.
At the end of the day my Defender has been to the dealer once in 4 years since I have had it (some minor stuff done myself), my mates 100 series that is only 4 years old has ben in at least 15 times and is coming up for clutch no 3.
