operating temp?

gday guys, this maybe a silly question but how long should my 96 v8i take to get up to normal operating temp? havent got a temp gauge that shows actual temp just the standard gauge.

I have a d1 3.9 and its up to temp ( even on the coldest mornings ) in about 2-3 k from start.
