Now that the Fender is back together it won't start:mad:.
Turn the key and everything lights up, fuel pump cycles as it used to. I can hear the solenoids but no starter motor. I have experimented and there is a noticeable power drain when it is in park as apposed to in gear.
I have even pulled the transmission tunnel back out looking for any wires I had missed. I also have noticed that the key fob no longer has an impact on the rig. as in light on key fob works but no response from Fender. Any ideas on how to get the darned thing running?

Could be something as simple as a sticking starter motor ?? (iam sure you would have already checked but that all i can think of)

Starter motor does nothing. I have the battery on charge at the moment just to remove it as a culprit.

If the starter motor is ok, any chance it could be the inhibitor switch?

Is gear selector in the right position in relation to the box?

I suspect it's the immobilizer as the key fob can't get the doors to lock unlock or even the parkers to flash. I will be checking a bit later once the battery has been given heaps more juice.

if the keyfob isnt working you will not get it to start unless you know the code and enter it in manually.......

each time you need to start it........

Where do you enter the code ?

first you need to know the 4 digit code........then you enter it via the ignition switch and the drivers door.......

i will see if i can post up the procedure........its in the owners handbook........

No I don't know the code:mad:.
Key fob is now working but still no turn over. The battery has been on charge all night and it's still not green!
I have just replaced my multimeter so will start checking the voltages.

The last DII I did a trans on had a faulty inhibitor switch. At a glance everything appeared to work, but checking with our handheld diagnostics showed the neutral start part of the switch wasn't working. It would still show each gear selection (park, reverse, neutral, etc) but wouldn't crank. Fitting another switch solved the problem.

IT LIVES!
After pulling the transmission tunnel back out I found one wire I had missed.
Turns out there are 4 wires to the starter with my set up. 2 main ones, one from each battery and 2 lighting wires.

Big time. She get her first proper test run tomorrow so lets hope all goes well.
Oh yea big lesson learned today also. To get the height under the rig we parked it on my Mud tires. Driving off them today I managed to 3 jammed. Both front stuck under the bull bar and the drivers side rear jammed between the wheel and the chassis:eek:. I think I popped one or at least let the air out. Had to jack it up one wheel at a time to free them:angel:. Felt quite the idiot.

I made it to work and back:D.

Had to add more oil to the box at one stage as she started getting hot and over revving. As soon as I added the oil it became a different beast! Ran at a happy temp and powered along. Just have to bolt everything else back in and clean up a small leak and it's done. I also picked up the replacement tires so will have to have them fitted.

Yep. I have damaged the header tank though:o. Snapped half of the small pipe mounting point off. There is still enough to keep the pipe in place but I don't like the idea of leaving it like that so it will need repairing or replacing.

Well removed the sump today to get it ready for a proper fix. The small crack from the outside is huge on the inside. 3/4 of the way round the filler pipe and it then joins the crack I had found. No more stuffing around I'm going to exchange it this afternoon for a good one. After that I hope it all will be fine.
