View Full Version : Stupid Question

Even though my new recovery point from Ladas would fit on this mount (pictured) like a glove, Im inclined to believe that as its only welded to the chasis it wouldn't be up to the job.

Id like to keep the regular bumper, and I don't really want to take off the steering protector (if thats what the thick tube is across the front)

What do I do?

I haven't installed my recovery point yet...

i looked at it last weekend and just decided to put it off ...its a bugger to get to with the stock bumper.

Its interesting that your tow point is completely different to mine.

It's not a stupid question. Most questions are never stupid - however we may give stupid replies. :D

The first is a tow loop (maybe!) and certainly doesn't look stock (unlike Grumpy's).

I've never seen anything like it before.

The P38A has a similar loop to Grumpy's but it isn't bolted on, it is welded to the chassis itself. When I asked at a RR owners club meeting about P38A recovery points, I was told that the stock P38A loop is OK for snatch recoveries.

The pics are of the slot where the nudge bar would normally bolt on to. There is one each side.

Get longer high tensile bolts (if necessary) and fit the recovery point at the same place as the brush bar/steering protector, maybe on the opposite side of chassis rail. Fit the bolts so the recovery point is at the head end not at the nut end.
