Help,
Does anyone know why this happens or better still how to fix it. When you use the remote it makes the sound of unlocking the Drivers door first (D2 TD5) but the button doesn't rise, :( you then press the remote again and it unlocks all the rest of the doors normally:). It then becomes a pain in the royal to climb in the passenger side, and open the door using the internal handle which inturn pops up the lock mech.

Anyone got any ideas????

Thanks

Doc

I will have to open up the door and have a squiz. Hopefully it is nothing serious.

Had the same problem with my D1 and current Rangie, reckon it must have been an optional extra. You could try http://disco-compatible-parts.com They only advertise replacement springs for D1 and Range Rover classic but might be able to help.

I have been told you have to replace the whole box inside the door. Very expensive or do as I do and just unlock it with the key. I have been told it's caused from not turning the lock manually with the key.

I had the same prob on trhe passenger door.
The actuator motor is encased in 2 half shell plastic casing. The halves seperate on the join and open slightly causing the 'geared flat slide' that the little motor en gauges to slip off it's track thus you hear the motor running but the door doesn't open.
I tried repairing it by drilling holes and fitting screws to hold it tighly together but it lasted a few days only.
I ended up getting one on ebay.
If it is your problem then
There is a seller called 'Bundene ?or Similar have a look at his ads, and PM for aprice if he doesn't list one. He is very reasonably priced.
