Hi guys,
Just looking to cheat a bit on the shocks for my Discoveries (93 & 95). I'm going to try for a 2.5" lift.

I have heard that 80 series cruiser shocks allow for around a 2" lift and they bolt in. But I'm not sure.

And I have no idea about the rear.

I can get a full set of Bilsteins from the states for less than second hand local ones, but they won't figure it out for me. I need to tell them what car I need the shocks from to suit. And it doesn't matter if I need to use pin to eye (or back) converters either. Got some already.

Anyone know?

you want around a 10'' stroke shock (f&r), raised front towers (if you send me a pair i can raise them 4 you)
and pack out the rear bump stops by 50mm.

arb have a book from old man emu that has the open and closed specs of OME shocks, ive tried to get one from them but no luck....24.5'' ext and 14.5'' comp
something like that.
i usta run the OME N76 on the rear of my disco, BUT its really soft excalent in the slow stuff not much good for touring work;)

cheers phil

GQ in the rear with a pin eye converter, you can make them from a leaf spring hanger (i think) from supercheap $8 and a bolt, thats what i have done and it works great.
You also have to make a bracket to raise the top shock mount about 40mm

Little secret - Every one talks about 80's front shocks as you can get them in a short and long, but you may need to lift your front towers depending.

Try an LC 79series shock - generally the same valving as an 80, but 2inch shorter, so saves a lot of stuffing about.

Thats what i'm doing with mine, and twin gq's in the rear.

Cheers
Dave.
