Well there clutch in Yellow Pezza just bloody packed it in this afternoon. I want to try an fix it myself, due to the fact that it will cost a fortune to take to a mechanic. I have had a quick look at it myself, an have worked out that the problem comes from within the bell housing, so that rules out any easy job :mad::mad: The gearbox and engine are both Isuzu, gearbox being an MSA i think. So my question is, Has anyone done a clutch change on such an engine and gearbox combo?, and If so Is there anyone in the Brisbane area keen in helping a fellow landy owner do a clutch change?
This kind of thing seems to always happen at the worst possible time :(
Help would be greatly appreciated
cheers

The clutch the last few days seemed to not disengage fully still works a bit, when i had a look underneath at the clutch fork lever it has quite a bit of free play, and is coming in contact with its cutout in the bell housing when the clutch is depressed. starting to look like the pivot point for the fork, or the fork itself has broken:(

What Transfer Case do you have hooked up to it? Sounds like an interesting Conversion Combo.

Hooked up to the standard landy T-Case, The input gear is a re-splined standard land rover one

Oh well I finaly got the engine out of yellow pezza last week, and found out the problem with the clutch. seems the ISUZU clutch for has suffered the same problem as some of the Landy ones. The ball pivot had worn the fork causing it to break all the way through, also the contact points on the fork for the thrust bearing were badly worn too, the clutch plate and face of the flywheel seem to be ok from what i can see, so i am guessing the clutch has been replaced before, so hopefully i can leave it alone. While i have the engine out I have decided to replace the bushes and shackles on the front springs, and also do the steering box and a general engine bay cleanup, all alot easier to do with the engine out. Gees this has turnd out to be a bit of a project. :o
