My 3.9L 93 Disco has delveloped a miss, which seems to effect either one, or more than one cylinder sporadically. I've pulled the spark plugs out and noticed no. 7 to be affected and doesn't appear to be firing. So, I tidied it up a bit and swapped it for no. 3 and went for a test drive.
Still missing sporadically so I pull over in the darkness beside the road to make sure I put the lead back on correctly. This is when I notice faint blue light coming from the spark plug lead for no. 7 and the coil lead.
Am I wrong to assume that the leads are shorting out, therefore the sporadic miss is from failure for the electrical pulse to make it the plug, or could there be something more sinister.
Thanks in advance.
Matt.
