Afer a solid day of rain on Friday, it was nice to have blue skies and sunshine for Saturday's little visit to the Powerlines.
People who tagged along were Ken and Kirstie, Andy and Maria and kids, Jason and Claire, and myself with my cousin and his son.
Along the track we stumbled across Joel and his young son Curtis in their Toyota Cruiser, and being a nice friendly bunch, we said yes when he asked if he could join us.
Easy sections had become hard, and hard sections had become very hard after the rain. We watched a Suzuki Sierra, sporting Simex Jungle Trekkers, put itself on it's side.....twice. I hope someone got some video of that! We did learn it only takes three people to put a Suzuki back on it's wheels
A few more battle scars were the result, but we all had fun. Andy looked like a boy at Christmas with his new 2" springs and Maxxis Bighorns
Some of the clips that turned out on my camera are
UKLRO trying out his new tyres

are you sure that your the right person to be owning a 4wd
the gods seem to think otherwise
drowning the defender in the powerline pond
losing rear drive
losing front wheel
they all seem to have common thread they dont want you to be driving a 4wd

Blimey Jason. That sure is a run of bad luck. Did you break a rear half shaft?
I have a check list that I go through at home (mainly because of my bad memory)....for stuff to take, and vehicle checks to perform, before heading offroad....or on any long trip. Wheel nut's are one of the things I check.
All the best getting it going again mate.

update - good news is my half shafts are o.k.
bad news is my rear diff has **** itself, $1650 lighter and it's now sorted.
still in need of a wing so if anybody knows of a white disco in any wa wreckers please shout out. i'm after a front passenger to fit a series 1 97 model.
after all this i've decided to retire the disco from the ruff stuff and once all sorted will be passed into the more caring hands of claire where hopefully it will lead a more uneventful life. :(

Mate...$1650 is pretty close to the cost of a locker
What are you going to use for the rough stuff?

everything in the diff was mashed so i still needed to buy one and the fact that everytime i take it out something breaks has led me( forced me) into the retirement path
in terms of what i'm going to use in the ruff stuff - it's o.k. i'm not retiring i'm just going to buy something else.
