I have freinds that had dome tents , that have come camping with me that have gone out and bought one the same tents
One of the best things is you can stand when you get dressed or changed

thats easy, stand up, feel for the edge with your feet, check the wind direction, track around the edge till the wind will blow the stream away from the vehicle and then let it rip, bend back a little so your hips thrust forwards for that little extra clearance.
Least thats what I do when Im swagged up on the roof, I just remember to dismount via the drivers seat so that I can move on a bit before getting off completely...

Well we did the tent thing for many years finally upgraded to a camper trailer used many tent types and ended up with a large dome tent (yes you could stand up in it) the size is 20ft x 12ft easy to erect easy to carry, we still use it for the teenage girls when they can get themselves away from internet and mobiles. We bought it from Bass Pro shop in America even with the exchange rate it was still less than half price of similar tents in Aus.The reason I am not a fan of roof top tents is once you have set up, you have lost your 4wd.
