Hi All,

Phred,
I am going to take a guess & say its a series 2 Discovery, The early versions of the gas system had some idling & running issues, so check when the gas system was fitted, if its alater fitment say about 03 onwards its probably ok.

If the vehicle is a series 1 disco then all is okm the vehicles were pretty faultless as long as the maintenance was kept up.

But all in all best to have a good look & drive yourself & even maybe get someone to check it over for you.

Hi Phred and welcome to the forum.

The D2's on LPG with the Thor type EFI system have a few issues, only really to do with petrol useage though. This stems from the fact that there is no return to the tank, and the injectors can become irrepairable and the fuel rail gummed up from lack of fresh fuel flowing through it over time.
The second is the A/Flow meter. These engines have A/flow meter failures on petrol, let alone even minor gas backfires....
The 3rd is a complete lack of lubrication to the exhaust and inlet valve guides. These engines especially require Flashlube or similar upper cyl. lube to promote long valve life.
Replacing injectors and airflow meters is very costly, so I urge you to get it checked BEFORE you buy, as after at least YOU can control the sort of use and service it gets.

They go well on gas however, so enjoy.
