Hi,
whats the normal running parameters on the 4BD1. Looking at adding an aftermarket gauge they mainly seem to be 0-100psi...would one of these gauges suit.

cheers

acording to the emei the regulator valve is set to vent at 64psi or441 KPA. I cant find it in the EMEI ATM but I think the low oil pressure idiot light should come on at 15psi.

OH BTW make sure the gauge you are fitting is one of those remote electrical jobbies as sure as shootin, if you fit one with the capilary line to the gauge it will find somewhere to rub or the vibrations will make the line fracture at the union. It'll still read a pressure right up untill you expose the pick up in the sump.... that might be bad, but Im only guessing.

So, Blknight.aus. Where is the pic of you and the Isuzu powered Landies. Cost of admission, remember?

"will I get to enter if I can post a pic of me surrounded by the ones I have to play with?"

:p

try

EMEI VEHICLE G 102 Page 4 Para 26

The pressure Regulating (relief) valve in the lubrication system operates in the same manner as the oil pump relief valve. The regulating valve maintains a constant pressure in the lubrication system by means of a ball and spring. When oil pressure in the lubricating system exceeds the desired pressure, the pressurised oil acts on the ball forcing it to compress the spring and open a gallery which allows oil to drain back to the oil pan and relieve the pressure within the system. The regulating valve limits the oil pressure within the oil galleries to 441kPa(64psi).

cheers once again Dave......

took it too the auto leccy today.....Looking at the schematic in the supplement I thought , yep they forgot about the regulator running from the relay...open circuit....with the new alternator the reg is inside...yep, they forgot it....now sensor is back on line and lights on.......also had the hot water lines by passed....so that's that side of things...
