Computers!!:mad: Why, when you need it the most, it gives trouble!!! This time it refuses to burn any video or anything else for that matter. Windows media won't work, Nero doesn't do anything and my expensive video editing program won't burn either. The dvd drive will read all formats but won't burn!!! Each of the programs run through the burning process including the led on the burner coming on to indicate burning. Can anyone offer a fix for this problem before I burn the darn computer???:(:mad:;):question:

you could start by re-installing the drivers & and firmware update, (download the proper ones from the OEM website)

Failing that swap out the IDE , (Ribbon) cable.

Failing that you have a buggered drive.

Before you throw it out though try connecting it to another (friends) computer yours might just have a software problem that needs a reinstall?

Try unplugging and replugging the leads to the DVD drive (probably best to do this with the machine off)
