Toilet/shower on drawbar

A couple of years ago I saw at the camping and caravan show a toilet/shower setup that sat on the drawbar. It seemed a bit expensive so I ignored it but after a three week trip to the top end I found our biggest problem was my wife's need for decent facilities. Her new nickname is "city-girl". Problem is you don't know what the facilities are like until you get there and then it is too late so I figure that if we carried our own then worst case is that we need to use ours. Also had a long stretch where there were no toilets and city-girl refused to squat next to the car. We don't want a caravan so I tried to find the afore-mentioned product on the net and could not find it.

Other option is to buy a portapotty and set the shower tent up over it but to be honest i am a lazy-boy and am trying to reduce setup workload rather than increase it.

Does anyone know anything about the shower/toilet product I mentioned at the start?

Or how do other people resolve this problem? And don't suggest I swap city-girl for a more flexible model, I kinda like this one.

I'd go the portaloo and one of the "instant" type tents (or shower tent). You just need privacy, but sitting on the drawbar probably won't thrill her.

I've seen the thing you mention, though, I reckon would be good with kids but not adults (mental thing, not physical).

I bought a brand new "unused" Porta Potti for $20, from a clubmate (caravaning type-upgrading to a bigger van with built in loo).
There are cheap ones on ebay, etc.
Great idea with the right chemicals, for the wife and children.
I've never used it :D and not sure it would like me - particularly after several campfire guinness':o

Forget the drawbar job, get her a portapotti or ....
train her in the use of these!!!

I've seen previously what Stews talking about... basically a porta-loo mounted to the draw bar in it's own self contained cubicle box... when you unclip the front and open the lid on the box... it opens up to a full size private cubicle and then close the lid again.

I assume the sides etc. are all a canvas or something with pop out framework.

Was a great idea but a pricey addition to the campers from memory

That sounds right, the top half of the sides were canvas . It had a winder to raise the lid and there was a shower rose built in to the lid. But was about $2500:eek:. I have no intention of spending that much but thought it might result in someone highlighting something similar but reasonably priced. Or some other solution I hadn't thought of at all. If I had some welding skills I could make my own however I would have to lose the toolbox from the drawbar which would be tragic.

Easy fix Frank. Mount it off the Bullbar instead. Then if you drive off and see her head pop up over the bonnet ...........
