The description is of a standard 1952 model year door handle - 1950 did not have an outside door handle. If you refer to a strip of canvas down the back edge of the door top, this was standard on the door top for all 80" according to the pictures in James Taylor and Graham Robson.

John is correct about outside door handles on 1952 & 53 vehicles.

The strip you refer to on the back of the door (bottom) is actually part of the weatherproofing of the vehicle.

The original 1948 and 49 models did not have any weather proofing. However by the 1950 model weatherproofing had been adapted and was standard on all new vehicles.

The 86" and 107" were designed to have weather proofing.

Hope this helps! :):):)
