Laptop battery repacking

does anybody on the forum repack laptop batteries.

I have a Panasonic Toughbook that will run for exactly 10 seconds on battery power. A replacement battery is quoted at over $500.00 and i have been quoted $250.00 to have it repacked.

was wondering if anybody in the know can say whether this repack price is reasonable/market related or whether they can suggest an alternative.

I am in Alice Springs but could probably freight battery elsewhere if neccessary

the problem with repacks is the electronics in the battery isnt replaced and sometimes it is the problem, not the cells.

I've tried to get two different laptop batteries repacked and both times have been told that even with new cells the battery will not work as the electronics in the battery pack tells the computer that it has completed its designated amount of cycles.

A new Dell battery for my current laptop is not much more than $100 anyway.
