Well it seems we maybe expecting a 2nd child....
We have a disco coming in a couple of months but this has me considering upgrading to the defender to a new 110....
I have kept my 2003 90 in spotless condition and due to the nature of my work, it has only done 8,500K's.....so pretty much brand new....
Anyway, its a dilema....be selfish and keep the 90 for myself OR shall I share the experience with the whole family and get a 110???
Tough decision.....
Anyway, I think I will test the water with a ad on Carsales....
BTW - what is the waitng list on the new defenders?
Anything I should be cautious about the new ones??

If you are tall you won't fit. Nowhere to put your legs owing to the centre dash.
Ask Tusker.
At least your wife will get her footroom back on the new model. :)
You may not have so much depreciation on a D90. I would have suggested keeping it and buying a car for the family - unless of course, your family goes 4WDing with you. Mine don't. The depreciation on an average 4WD would almost pay for a car.

How about some custom flip down seats for the back of the 90? Might cost you a couple of thousand when done, but probably would still be less than what you would lose changing vehicles. If you got seats that flip down from the side you would still have room for a pram and a tiny bit of gear.
And with a custom seat you could also get all the car seat mounting stuff built in and save that bit extra of getting a crib bar mounted.

If you want a new Defender just call up your local dealer and put down $1000. That will hold one. Deposit refundable if you don't like it when you test drive it.
At the moment they are suggesting a shipload will be arriving here in November (200 vehicles, but heard that from Scallops not the dealer).
Apart from the special orders they will be the high spec model only, mostly in white.
The dealer in Adelaide is suggesting that the whole lot will sell and if you don't have a deposit to hold one you will miss out on this delivery. This could be rubbish of course.

first off.... CONGRATS on the second rugrat!!
thinking a little ahead, what is to stop you enjoying the 90 for your use and using the disco for family use? with not too much outlay, you can use the disco to go 'family friendly' offroad places...
consider just how many people have utes - most of which aren't remotely family friendly...

Ah, second child, save the 90 for a rainy child free day and buy the 110.
Only solution.

Actually I like the idea of some extended trips, offroad and through central OZ and I dont think i want to put the Disco through that....
I did go over the idea of putting the 2 seats in the back but then that will be limited for outback touring....
Anyway, If I can get what I want for the Def90 I will upgrade in early 2008. Seems defenders are doing well these days at holding their value so could be good.
HAs anyone test driven the 2.4 and 6spd yet?

I'm 172cm, so not particularly tall at all, and compared to most people I have my seat forward. In the new Defender I have to have the seat as far back as it'll go.

Fitting Mudrails will allow just about anyone to fit the new Defender - and yes - November delivery is the latest news.
