just caught the tail end of a bindi irwin tribute to her late dad.
it was an insult to the intelligence of anyone who accidentally came across it.
as much as i admire the risks he took and the work with wildlife he did, i almost wish the sting ray got him before bindi was concieved.

From the time of hes death, I always had a sick feeling to my stomach with the attitude of 'the show must go on!'. For crying out loud, why would any parent want to expose their kid to show business at a young age, especially right after her fathers death. To me its all wrong, and I shake my head in disbelief re the whole situation.

Thank goodness, I was thinking I was the only one who is absolutely sick of her.

Perhaps thats what she wanted. Everyone is different.

As a big steve fan i could get into an arguement here but wont. Steve's manager and Terri tried to keep bindi out of the spotlight for as long as possble after his death, but given she grew up with a man as enthusiastic as Steve about saving wildlife she was bound to continue in his foot steps, yes she is young but she has choosen to do it, Terri tried to get her to wait.

I would just like to say I felt for her and her loss, but to expose someone so young to so much media after such a Huge personal loss I believe is wrong.
In saying this I also admire her as she is deffinately here fathers Daughter in every respect.:)
Many teenagers today cannot even compare with her strong character and zest for life?:D:):D
Just my sml view:cool:

I admire the little girl and hope every success

however I cant stop thinking this is the doing more or less by her mother and manager to push her into the spot light

as the famous say the show must go on

I was a huge fan of her father and I think he was a legend well he is now and I hope she does follow in his foot steps in saving wild life

I suppose who are to judge if its to early we must not forget she was in the spot light long ago and an instant stop could have just as much damage

I hope she is home schooled otherwise her class and teachers will have their hands full.

She is either a natural or someone has groomed her to say and act that way.

There must be a child abuse law somewhere.

Made for America? Steve was Steve. Won't be another like him.

But, little Bindi? A bit forced, for the American TV mob. It has to be over the top for them.

I have to agree, she's young and this publicity just might not be a good thing. But, who are we to say, she is not our child, no matter how close the TV brought Steve and his family to us. I do think Terri has her head screwed on pretty straight.

Hi Ace,
I have trouble accepting this.

I would have been able to keep her out of the spotlight. Why can't her mother?

Yes she is young but she has chosen to do it.
Are we going to assume that a child her age, no matter how confident and articulate is capable of making decisions that are in her long term best interests?
Of course not. We have laws to protect children her age because they are immature and vulnerable.
Is she aware of any of the innumerable cases of children whose lives were destroyed or at least made very difficult by being exposed at an early age to some of the pressures that she surely must be under? Jennifer Capriati is just one example.
If not then she is hardly making an informed decision.
Are her adult advisers aware of the potential risk? That's another question. At this stage I am only dismissing the idea that she chose to do what she is doing and so it is OK.
