Good testament for Maxi-drive.
Give it hell, you might bend it, but you won't break it.:)

It's only a minor bend. I still have my stock bent one in the shed. Plan to straiten it one day as a spare.

my wheels are nearly pointing at each other. lucky it has one of these protector things or it would be un driveable a bloke here recons he can straighten it out once he has done that i will put it inside some heavy wall tube and tack it on

I seen that mentioned somewhere else but I thought I'd rather bend a rod than transfer the shock with a stronger rod to the balljoint or PS box.
Or of course I could just be wrong?

I thought these things were never meant to be straightened once bent, safety first and all that good stuff :o
Tubes over the rods, they call those "Dan bars" don't they?

Once they're bent, they'll bend again much easier, they need re-enforcing;) I've bent mine and I've got hunks of angle welded to them:(

Easy to make one. Get a length of 4140 or 4340 thick wall tube, drill and tap each end 11/16" x 16tpi using an intermediate tap. I can supply taps ex stock if necessary.

Well the amount of rover's running around, with steering arms I've welded angle onto, is probably more than most people have owned:D without fail, I've only bent my own, so far:o, but I'm a silly boy:)
But no, its not legal;) but neither are the rovers I work, over engineered maybe, but not legal:angel:
Edit: actually, Not sure, but Ssmezch may still be using one of mine??

Qld. Transport state that "The welding, chrome plating, heating, or bending of axles, suspension or steering components, as a method of repair or alteration, is not permitted."
