Motor Trimmer Roof Lining

I have a Disco S1 the roof lining is starting to sag so after reading a number of posts on replacing the roof lining for around $200 I started dialling up some trimmers in Sydney metro area.

So far I haven't found one that will do it under $400 and it doesn't have a sun roof.

Appreciate if someone steer me to the right trimmers and price !

In a previous life I was a vehicle trimmer, got out because EVERYONE has a machine at home and undercuts legitimate buisnesses (hell I did). Talk to any of the employees and you'll likely find they'll do the work after hours for much less (not that you heard it from me).

Which is illegal if they get the business from one of their employer's (potential or actual) customers. (I think it comes under Economic Tort)

I used a trimmer at Riverstone for my previous RR but that was about 7 years ago and it cost under $200.

Buy a couple of metres of marine grade carpet and a tin or 2 of spray adhesive and do it yourself for less than a hundred bucks, plenty of colours from white to black and is easy to form over uneven surfaces, most canvas and motor trimmers or boatie shops have it, I bought some for my caravan cieling 3.2mx2m for $70, you wouldn't need that much, Regards Frank.

Unless they have improved enormously over the last few years I would advise against spray contact. I was most disappointed when I used it for the back half of my rangie.

If you are near the shire, I cant remember the proper name but look for something similar to the below.
Cronulla Car and Boat trimmers,
Captain Cooks drive Caringbah.
They did a excellent job on my Disco 1 just before I rolled it:eek:
It was about $400, but honestly, it was better than the original.:angel:

interference with contractual relations [including with employee and family relations]
conspiracy to injure
the existence of a genus tort
relationship of those torts with workplace relations' law
economic losses suffered by injurious falsehood, passing-off and related Trade Practices offences
the negligent infliction of economic loss, including accountants' and auditors' liabilities.
Objectives


On completion of this subject students should
have an understanding of, and be able to evaluate critically, the principles on which liability for torts interfering with business and economic interests are based and
be able to analyse and understand the role of the courts and legislatures in prescribing the limits of permissible and impermissible conduct in business.
Just to add to Rons comment, was on offer at Monash University, a dedicated subject.
Now to research actual economic tort actions.

Now that someone has resurrected the roof lining probs again,
maybe you people who have had it done can explain something, did you take the vehicle to the trimmers, and have them pull it down or did you take it apart yourself take the lining thingy out and take it to them,

I was trying to work this out the other day when i was eyeing off quiggers roof, if you get the thing out yourself, where do you put it to transport it to the trimmers?
roof rack, in another vehicle, or leave it temporarily on and remove it in the trimmers carpark.

I figure if you take it out and strip it down all they are going to do is glue either a new bit on or the old bit,

Ok am getting the picture now,
that explains the high price cool95 is talking about. They take it out, charge more.
Have a mate in town whose son is a trimmer, will run it by him and see what he charges.
