Ok I'm at the stage of buying my top coat paint for my old girl and I'm wanting a green but can't deside what sort of green to get :( . I was looking at the kermit green that was on the old hq holdens or maybe even trying for the hot house green on the VY commodore . And probably the other green i was looking at was a dark metallic green that came out on the VY calais . Any other color greens that may look better , Cheers

British Racing Green - but then, being English, I'm biased. ;)

Have a look at the late model Ford green colours, Like Citric Acid and Harvest Green, the latter goes well with gold highlights (stripes, signage), the Holden colours are very wishy washy especially Snot Green (hothouse green), if you go to the Ford GT club of Australia web-site and have a look at their gallery of cars you will find some brilliant colours, Regards Frank.

Have a look in Special Interst Groups----Series 1. There is a link to British Standard paint colours. Quite a few greens in there.

Correct name is Napier Green. It was the colour of the Napier entries way back in the days of the Gordon Bennett Trophy.
If you are to paint a Series III 88", then Wildlife Green is the correct colour.

BRG is too common nowadays, Olive drab could be an option but personally I'd go Sublime Green

Holden colurs are wishy washy??? You must be on drugs Ford have some of the worst colours ever and the only way you could like them is by hallucinating. The only colour Fords I like at present are the plum and black. The new Holden purple is OK as well.

If that is the usual olive looking green, I agree completely. Be generous with the coats, too. It will look great.

What's your problem, why do you have to attack someone who has a different opinion to your's, remember opinions are like ar$eholes, every one has one, Regards Frank.

Why do you guys keep using this phrase? I just don't understand. Ar53holes are useful, without them you would have **** coming out of your mouth........
.....on another note I am organising a whip around so some members can get a much needed, life saving surgical procedure.
As for the green, if you have just spent a fortune in money and time built up the car and it is not telling you what colour it should be don't paint it.

The D2/Defender green thats very Dark looks good.
Kens D2,Rummans Defender and CraigEs Defender are all this colour.
Looks good,in some light its very green in others its almost black.
It is a metalic, which may or may not suit you.

Been thinking about it and the darker the color the more imperfections that will show up in the paint . Such as small dents and spot welded marks . So sort of guessing to head more towards a basic Green without metallic and light enough to hide the marks :)

It's a gorgeous colour, but like my other favourites of silver and the dark grey, I'm not convinced they're practical for off-road Landies.
