Hi Guys
I have been reviewing the posts on trailers and PCDs etc and just want some confirmations.
The Disco II has the same 120mm PCD as the Holden Commodore?
The standard M14 wheel studs for the Disco II are too small for the holes drilled in the hubs/drums by Al-Ko?
Landcruiser M14 wheel studs are an acceptable alternative to fit in the holes drilled by Al-Ko and will accept the Disco II special wheel nuts or wheel nuts for Disco II steel wheels?
This leads to the one question I'm a bit unclear about:
Will the Disco II alloys fit onto the Al-Ko brake drum (parallel bearing/ Land Cruiser bearing type)?
Thanks in advance.

Not with parrallel bearing, no.
I have D2 Alloys on my trailer with AlKo offroad electric brakes but I had to use a tapered (how do you spell that?) end to the axle. There is no way (even if you don't have brakes) to have parallel bearings because the diameter of the stud pattern is too small.
And make sure, if you get the hubs made, that they use 14mm studs not 9/16 like they did with mine. I had to knock all the studs out and fit new ones. Unfortunately if you use the D2 alloy then you HAVE to use the D2 wheel nuts which means they have to be 14mm metric fines.

Ford heavy duty bearings are the ones you want.
Yes Holden Commodore is the same PCD.
AL-KO won't fit anything but 9/16 studs to their hubs.
This is what i did.

Here is my setup,http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread.php't=40943
ALKO electric drums, the rest is Martins Trailer Parts.
They also only use 9/16 studs,I had to supply the 14mm 100 ser ones.
These are actually too short,so they did a bit of extra work and there is a set of extra nuts/bolts in the hubs.If you dont want to do this you need to find longer studs,ASK the supplier how long.
MARTINS TRAILER PARTS,TOP BLOKES TO DEAL WITH,VERY PROFFESIONAL!!!
I had to machine the D2 alloys to suit the hubs(see link),others with alko dont, obviously my hubs ar a fair bit bigger, still run tapered bearings.

A lot of work you did there. However I was hoping that the conversion to DII alloys would mean that any wheel from the car would also fit the trailer. If you have to machine out the centre of the alloy this would have to be done on all the rims on the car and trailer, including spares. It would also mean lose the ability to fit the wheel centre caps.
Dropping from parallel bearings to tapered bearings also means that you reduce the axle capacity to somewhere between 1000Kg for Holden bearings to 1450Kg for Ford slimline bearings. A drop of about 550Kg GTM and significantly reduces what you can put in the off-road van. :(:(
Any other solutions?

Mine are rated at 1500kg.
I had already got the wheels and fitted brand new Wrangler MTRs to match the D2!!!!
I would have just gone D1 or 6 stud IF I HAD KNOWN!!!!
My trailer wheels(have 4) can now only be used in an emergency on the D2 at low speeds, but the vehicle wheels wont go on the trailer.
The trailer shop said it was all easy,BUT it was another smaller branch that stuffed up with the info.I ended up dealing with the main branch/manufacturing division. They went out of their way to get me back on track.
My biggest trouble know is finding time to build it!!!!
Longweekend coming up!!!!
