Today I'm > < this close to finishing my gearbox swap. It's mostly connected so I went to test it, (drive shafts unconnected) and the RRC sounds like it has a 6.0L with a straight through.
While it does sound great it seems I've managed to snap part of the exhaust around the ring that attaches it to the manifold.

Man I'm ****ed

I just bought a mig so I'll either try to weld it or knock-up a custom, (read DIY) job from the existing OEM exhaust and the spare single pipe exhaust I have.

Bugger it's still just another job before I can go wheeling again. :(

These things are sent to try us, I guess better now than on a trip and further problems

look on the bright side you can tell the wife that the money spent on buying the mig welder has now been saved by you welding a repair job on the exhaust thereby neatly avoiding having to explain you broke the exhaust in the first place

way ahead of you but like the way you think.

Before I even bought it I was saying things like I want a bash plate but they cost $xxx, if I had a MIG I could make my own :-)

Stooge: the gearbox swap isn't hard just a long and boring job give yourself plenty of time.
The only hard bit was lining up the gearbox shaft to fit back through the clutch plate, easier said than done!
