Hi all, recently we had to borrow a panasonic digital camcorder. According to the instruction booklet we can put our recorded stuff straight to computer if we install the "motionDV 5.3" program on the supplied cd. Trouble is, nobody seems to know where the supplied cd is.:(
Any chance of anyone here having a copy of this I could get?
Thanks

If you have a firewire/1394 connection you should be able to use windows movie maker or imovie to capture the stuff from tape.
Cheers

I think you can download it... let me look up the URL. If not I have a copy (with my Panasonic Camcorder). Also you can use Adobe Premier Elements, ULead or any of the other video editing software around.

Try this panasonic site: http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/soft/index.html

Thanks for the link, I found that one also, but it appears to be only the update software that is available for download, not the program itself, I'll download Ulead and try that.

If it's a DV camcorder, you can just dump the tape contents into any video editing program, (Including Windows Movie Maker) over a firewire connection. You'll only need driver software if you plan to use the S-Video and take the feed in as analogue (Which makes no sense at all anyway)

Thanks for the info, I'm downloading Ulead at the moment, I'll give it a whirl and let you know.

If you have the usb cable, windows should just transfer it with the camera and scanner wizard.

I'll try that, I just realised I don't have the firewire cable for the camera anyway:oops2:

Panasonic doesn't supply a Firewire, its an optional extra. You just get the USB.

Well, I managed to source a copy of the original software and I think I've figured it out, I have it on the hard drive now, just got to try and reduce the size a bit.;)
Bit of a complicated set up though, or maybe I'm a bit simple.:D
