I don't recall this being mentioned before:

http://www.landrover.co.uk/za/en/Vehicles/Defender/Models/Gameviewer.htm

As the first SABS approved, factory-manufactured vehicle of its kind in the world, the 130 Gameviewer undergoes the same quality evaluation process as all other Defender products, thus quality is assured. And talking of quality, The Defender Gameviewer is covered by a 1 year/30 000km warranty and the service requirements are based on distance as well as hours in service.
None of Land Rover´s legendary off-road capabilities have been compromised with this product. The vehicle has many impressive features over and above the standard specification. So the next time you go on a game drive with your family, put safety first by insisting on travelling in a Land Rover 130 Gameviewer.

I love the way the blurb is written for the owner-driver...

"So the next time you go on a game drive with your family, put safety first by insisting on travelling in a Land Rover 130 Gameviewer."

As if anybody is just going to pop out and buy a Gameviewer for the family week-end outing. Or if they are suggesting that you insist that your tour operator uses on - then I wonder if they would really give a rat's and ditch their Troopie for one because you "insisted".

And the pride of lions said "yum a packed lunch" and "meals on wheels" :whistling:.

You should look at Top Gear's soft-top people carrier challenge then. They took it to a game park and the monkeys nearly collapsed the roof.

IIRC, in Zimbabwe petrol Landies were preferred by game park rangers because at idle they were quieter than the diesels and therefore more suited to game viewing.

May not be the case any more of course with the state of their economy and its fuel shortages.
