It's time for an upgrade from the 89' Range, and so was wondering before I start my shopping list, what models do I leave off the list over the last ten years?
Any information would be appreciated, as I would like to do the research properly this time, as I didn't do it last time and got stuck with a VM diesel.

I was thinking between $55k to $60k, which will of course depend on what input I get from the forum.

For that money you should be able to get a current shape Rangie fitted with the BMW 6 cylinder diesel. Spudboy has one and as far as I know he still loves it.
