Yup, a tad mad - yet we all want to do it at least once in our lives don't we... I wonder what our fastest "captured" speeding driver here in Australia was clocked at?

I like the motorcyclist at the end of the story... strapped the camera to his helmet... makes finding the bits easier when he crashes suppose.
Of course we all condem this irresponsible, stupid behaviour.... then go around the corner and high five him!

Well yes most have done this, and i must admit i'm guilty of it.
On the old F5 before it was extended you used to turn off the Hume hwy at the crossroads hotel and at the bottom of the hill just before the freeway used to start, was a set of lights, from there to the Campbelltown exit on my old GPZ900R, i reached 245 Kph, i can tell you the bend where the traffic now merges onto the now M5, at 245kph, i was almost scraping the footpegs.
Stupid i know but still a buz.
Not the fasted i've ridden at but i was at Oran Park that time.

I had a boss in the Territory who had a V12 jag... at around 180 it was still pushing you back in to the seat like you were doing 80.... Natural self preservation kicked in and I backed off, not sure what it was capable off, didn't want to find out.

What's even more amazing with this guy is, I used to live in the village which is bypassed by the road on which he was caught. The bypass is only 1.5 kms long & he was caught about half way along it
It starts at a roundabout then there is a footbridge about a quarter of a mile down the road. I used to see how fast I could get before the bridge. Never got caught though :p

mmm That would have been on the A34 by Abingdon. Nice road dual caragway with long straghts done about 220 kph there my self in a Serria Cosworth , and clocked 256kph with a mate driving his TVR chrima
Of course getting clocked over 160kph by the police in the Uk will win you a bike for a while

mmm things you do when you are younger

I've seen 235km/h in my RX7
just over 200km/h in my Exa
And just over 240km/h in my mates VL Turbo- that was an experience, certainly not in a place that I would have chosen to open it up!
(I've got a spreadsheet that uses wheel/tyre size, diff gearing, gearbox ratios and rpm, and according to that these speeds are accurate- cos I know the speedos on my cars aren't!)
I've 'only' done 180km/h on my GPZ 750 turbo. Only time I've ridden it! Things feel a lot quicker on the bike!
Oh and all on private test tracks.....nudge nudge wink wink

250kph Suzuki Katana 1100.
260kph Kwaka GPZ 750 Turbo.
240kph Ducati 900SS.
200kph SS Torana 4 speed with 3.55 diff.
220kph plus (at least 240kph) VT Commodore V8 Wagon. Needle bouncing off end of 220kph speedo and kept accelerating.
270kph SS Torana (friends and clocked by Police).
220kph Mercedes Benz 190E.
165kph Demo Discovery 2 TD5.
150kph 2000 Defender TD5.
190kph MG Convertible.
All this not random. Time and location carefully selected with no traffic.
Quickest I have heard / seen personally was a mate on his Hayabusa with extensive mods (no engine mods) at 320kph.

The A420 is a very notorious road for nasty crashes...
I'll also add that the chap that got done is from my home town of Harrow.
