Buying a new turbo is on the cards for me.

Is anyone else interested in buying a new Garrett GT ball bearing turbo?

I have a quote of $1100 from a Sydney dealer for a GT2560R that I will probably go with. If a few of us buy we might be able to do even better.

Keep me posted if I have the cash I will be interested. Have you sourced any manifolds yet?

No takers so far so I will probably buy local (Capalaba) for close to the same money and more piece of mind.

My manifold looks the same as Gerry's

I am looking to put an intercooler where the air cleaner is located to act like a cross over pipe. I just need to decide an alternative aircleaner set up.

That's an IHI manifold which a garrett won't bolt to.

You can slot the holes in a garrett T25 to fit and the ports match okay, but the T28's can have different size and shape ports, many also use studs instead of holes to mount on, which is a royal PITA.

I think your best bet is the later style manifold used on the 4BD2, make an adaptor from it's T3 flange to those T28's.
Or just get a T3 based turbo and it'll bolt right up.

yes Gerry's is for an IHI. Mine has a t2 flange.

Hi Guy's

I have a Isuzu from a stage one and would like to put a turbo on it , had a look at your pics , not sure what a IHI manifold is was wondering will a IHI or a 4bd2 turbo manifold fit a 4bd1 from a stage one and where would be the best place to get hold of one .

Regards

James

IHI is a japanese turbo maker. The IHI manifold is a 4BD1 turbo manifold with a turbo mount that doesn't fit your typical garrett patterns.

But you can probably find a turbo and manifold together from a wrecker. Most common seem to be off a 4BD2 as they sometimes do heads.
