I have a spare chassis for my 80 and on checking find the numbers

???12 3136 as best I can tell
Interested in your thoughts on identy!

That is a very awkward sequence which doesn't seem to match anything.

Can you determine if the punches used on all the numbers are the same (font/size) if not which ones are done with the same punches?

Your chassis number has me intrigued.

My latest thoughts are that you are reading a "0" as a "2" both have a rounded top and elements of the base could be confused.

It it is a "0" then the ? digit immediately to the Left of the "1" will be a "6".

If it is a 1950 (i.e. R06103136) then it has to have the narrow front springs.
If it is a 1951 (i.e. 16103136) it wont have the two supports in the tub.

I think what I am saying is that we need a macro pic/s of the number using different lighting, position etc and some good shots of the rest of the chassis.
