What to do, what to do ??

Have to get a new vehicle this week. Have $20k or so to spend.

Comes down to these 2:

1. 93 LSE Classic, 260,000kms, 2 owners, Converted to Coils, Bloke reckons the Harmonic Balancer needs fixing and took $1500 of the price (thats what he said he was quoted) - $9250

2. 99 D2 V8 ES, 200,000kms. Stock condition. - $12,500

So lets say a $3000 difference between the 2. I will be putting either one on LPG and will need to put an extra row of seats in the Rangie.

I could get a dearer vehicle but I want a bit left over to get mabye a lift further down the track and other mods for it. My partner is pregnant so I will leave the mods until after the baby is born.

I really dont know which way to go on this one. Any suggestions besides flip a coin (as thats what its almost down to for me) would be most appreciated.

Go Long!!! Go Long!!! - Do it LSE long style, and the kids won't be able to kick the back of the seats too!

I would go the LSE over an early D2 but why not a D1 ? you should be able to find 1 on gas already as well as a 7 seater.

What happened to the Td5 in your sig line?
Do you still have anything from it that you could use on the V8 D2?

I think it would come down to which you like the most. I mean the interior of a 93 Rangie (even an LSE) isn't really up to a 99 D2 ES for example.

TD5 is gone. Hence the need for a new vehicle asap.

I haven't even seen the insides of a 93 Rangie (except for photos). A softdash would be nice but getting a LSE softdash is difficult.

D1 is too small IMO with 3 kids, 2 adults and a baby on the way.

LPG seems to be cheaper and easier on the Rangie.

You need a mini van ! Rangie is easier to lpg but there will be no more room in the rear than a D1 7 seater plus you are talking about a 14 year old car with a viscous transfer that will no doubt need to be replaced some time. A D2 7 seater would be better but i would only get a 2000 + plus model.

What fun is a Mini-Van ?? :) ;)

What I was thinking with the Rangie is drop a 300Tdi and an LT230 in. Solves the V8's short range and viscous transfer. Mabye even gas the 300Tdi ? But the D2 with all leather and already having 7 seats is looking good. Its just I am very limited on engine options. LPG (and limted at that) is my only options for it.

I wish there was a LSE on the Gold Coast here to have a peak at. Mabye even just have a look at standard Rangie to get a feel for it.

Forgot to mention that yes the D2 is a 99 Build, 2000 First Registered Model.

Found another LSE. This time 1994 - Softdash with LPG already. Its $12,990 from a dealer. I will ring him tomorrow as the LPG tank may be in the back.
