Flicking through the militaria pages of Ebay and there was an incredible amount of Vickers and Bren gun gear plus a huge array of aircraft parts including Wirraway, where does it come from after all these years.

Just go into Militaria and go to 39/45 militaria and scroll through, just about every page has these bits. I click buy when first open ebay when the options come up scroll down to see all at bottom of page it will bring up a more complex listing of subjects, militaria is under collectables, click on that and follow what I said.

I don't know about the gun stuff, but my aunt's father was in the army in WW2, when he left he took a first aid kit with him & put it in the boot of his car. When he swapped cars, so moved the first aid kit, until his wife sold the last one. Finally the kit came out of the boot, it had not been opened, so was in top condition, everything there.
The result was that the AWM staff were quite pleased with the donation, as some of the numbers of the items in the kit they had no prior record of.
Just one story!

You would be suprised how much stuff still lies in Q-Stores around the country. At the School of Armour we did a masive clean out and there were a bunch of old (new) tow ropes still in origanal packaging. The writing said somthing along the lines of 'Tow rope universal Carrier Bren', I think. I ask to have 1 or 2 but they had to be distroyed. Cut into a millon bits and the hooks on the end gassed axed up.
