I still have that old IIa here, still pretty much intact, i have the rear tub, roof and sides if anyone wants them, they are in good condition, nice and straight, free to anyone who comes to take them, also the front gaurds are there as well. If no one wants them then i will be cuting them up to send to the scrap for cash.
Thanks,

Gday All,
Its still attached to the car, my method for removal requires an angle grinder so i will hold off if someone wants to come get it :)
as far as i know its all straight, including the roof, just needs some new paint and yes it LWB.

Anyone want the guards? other wise time to start cutting :)

Is it a wagon? If so don't chop it up. Anything that isn't taken I will take.

cal415

its a 2 door wagon,, what are you after edd, between me and chris we are about to dismantle 3 full rangies, a stage 1 4 door wagon and a 110 2 door thats already in bits

I would like to build a 4 door wagon soft top. I have the rolling shell coming from easo. We can also get a series 1 chassis and running gear but no body. I would just love to build up a series as a project so 2 door would do but I will need at least 5 seats as it looks like we have another bub on the way:eek:.

cal415
9th October 2007, 10:51 PM
what is the rolling shell exactly? i have a 110 chassis i will probobly need to offload shortly, it will likely be a bare chassis but might be able to find some diffs to put under it, it would be a good start for a series/110 build up, chris has the 4 door stage 1 body to offload too, but the doors are rusty as is the firewall.

Just a rolling shell
This is the one. Thats all I know on it so far.

I know where I can get never used series 3 rear quarters. Don't know how much though. I have lots of space to hide things.

Cal415 Now I am confused - is this the vehicle at stockton?

If yes and after John D has bagged his tub I would be very interested in the cab, guards etc. Could even drag it away if needs be.

No Diana...thats the shell Edd is getting from Easo and not the one at Stockton

Spot on. That's the one I have coming to the fold.

Ed - a Suffix G - the very best of all the series Land Rovers in my opinion. The gearbox, although non-synchro in 1st and 2nd was much stronger than either the earlier or SIII boxes. The cab was the last of the utilitarian models that you could hose out the mud.

Will need many pics of the restoration progress. :D:D:D

(have you thought of a 4 door wagon. A normal tub side on the RHS and the LHS from a 10/12 seat (5 door) wagon. That way the 'tin lids' can't jump out on the RHS of the vehicle and one less door to child and leak proof.)

No. But I am now! Love that idea. It also means one less door to child proof from the outside. An unlocked vehicle at my place is fair game to them. Visitors soon learn when they see the boys going through the vehicle and turning everything on and off.
We have to keep the keys out of reach also as they have discovered the remotes for the doors.

GREAT TIMING!!, I only removed the badly hand cut down wings of of my old girl today, so if there are any front wings left after peoples pickings im certainly looking for a pair (or even just the drivers side outer) in the very near future.

This is kind of a blessing too as my current budget is only the big "F" word thanks to the missus:angel:... and this would mean i dont have to wait!!

Cheers

I am looking for a RR classic radiator for my 1985 and also any other Rover v8/5 speed/Lt 230 bits that may be available for a S2B forward control project.

Will you have any of those sorts of bits available?

As Mick has said, I got the tub today, and have now got home safely with it.

On the way back, near the Cassilis turnoff, I was passed (on a double line with a B-double coming the other way) by an ambulance with lights blazing and siren blaring, and a few minutes later by another. A few kilometres further on traffic was down to one lane with emergency vehicles blocking the other. There was a Landcruiser 100 (I think) on its roof at the bottom of the embankment about twenty feet below the road. Probably took two turns to get there, and it was much the worse for wear. I can't see how it got off the road - straight, but steep, just below the crest, with a double line. Perhaps dodging someone on the wrong side?

I would like to thank Mick not only for the free tub, but for the help in removing it and (his brother as well) loading it on the trailer.

Do any 11a panels fit a defender? As I have just bent mine after hitting a cow. I could use a passenger side front guard and door among other parts.

PeteYou can put them on but would look a little strange without the headlamp on one side.

They also have different inner panels and are made of a different alloy containing magnesium rather than the softer aluminium panels on the Defender

Cal are the tyres worth anything?

I'm after a reasonable set of tyres for ours (when I say reasonable I mean in good condition with enough tread for a blue slip) that we can put on once we get it up for rego.....
Don't need wheels as I have 2 sets already.

I would of loved those guards they look in great condition. I have some now though

Oh and if the head lights haven't been claimed.

Hey Lokka I still have a carton here for you by the way;)
