Alex said a new word today....
Connie bought him out to work to have mornos with me and he pointed to an R Series and said.....
"Truck"

I took him up to the cab and I dont know whose grin was bigger his or mine...

I can just hear him thinking.... "Sure Dad in a Landrover the other car is your crumple zone.. But an R series uses Landrovers as Bump Stops....."

Ooh look a REAL truck.
On ya Dave, instill it in them while you can.
Remember what old Admiral Benbow said.
"Give me the boy till he is seven, and I will return to you the man".
Teach em the right stuff while they're still young mate.

When single I was in a share house at Coogee for a while. One of the inmates got married in a bit of a rush. He used to come around on Sunday mornings with the bub to watch World of Sport and the football replays, have a few beers, and to give mum a sleep in. To mum's surprise, bub said his first word, very clearly, in the Woolworths at Bondi Junction. A word very similar to truck. Guess who was blamed.

yep my other half was amused but a bit disappointed when our young bloke's first words included 'CAR', which he shouted every time he saw one.
He likes cars a lot. He always prefers a drive in dad's big noisy car to mum's quiet car.

When my now 11 yo son was about 2ish I dropped him off in works bannana back tow truck (crappy old D series) and he said to his Muslim day carer at the top of his lungs "DADS BIG TRUCK" swapping the tr with a F.
Sonita was very straight faced in saying "I think it is a truck Daniel" and I drove off laughing my head off.
Ive got heaps of milage out of it already with him, cant wait till his 21st, I have plenty more.
By the way his first word was Dad and his second was Car and until he was about 6 his favorate toys were some of my old spanners that he had been sucking on since he was about 1.
Now he has the playstation grrrrrrrrr.
