I think the Brisbane Times www.brisbanetimes.com.au (http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au) need a new editor.
I have yet to read an article this morning that hasn't had typos but this one is pretty good. It looks like they did the same thing I used to do at uni if I wasn't sure of something. However I used to highlight the section red so I could come back to it when I had the correct info.
If it is actually a crime to possess thing then the Adam's Family are in a lot of trouble!

Can we have a poll to see if we want Ron up here in sunny Queensland :).

I doubt if we could find a shed as big as his for the 'extras' :o.

I left there in 1964. I doubt I'll ever go back.

re proof-reading, I've been listening to the news reports on my local radio stations and I wonder who writes them. They are so badly written as to be ambiguous.

Don't they ever read them aloud to find the obvious problems?

:D

It seems that "possess thing" is legalese! I assume it is to prevent lawyers claiming a technicality when an object isn't described properly by police. I guess it also obviates the need to continually rewrite the laws when a new "thing" evolves.

Well bugger me. Maybe it was the lawyers/politicians that did what I said when they made that law but made up an excuse when they realised their mistake ;)

ACP Magazines management sent an email to staff this morning regarding the bogong moth plague:

"There have been several unreported cases of moths flying into people's mouths on the street, especially near Pitt Street Mall. Please refrain from yawning or keeping [your] mouth open for long periods as moths see a 'tunnel'."

I wonder how they know about moths in mouths if nobody reported it!
