Well guys and gals, our club president Josh is in hospital once again.

I had a SMS from Masayo last night saying that the operation was bigger than expected and the family asks to give him space for initial recovery until Friday, but better if we can leave him be till Monday.
Must have been worse than anticipated, so let's honour their wish and give him space till next week, but I suppose a few SMS's won't do harm.....
In the meantime prayer won't go astray - this is a big ongoing saga and he needs all the help he can get!

Get well soon Josh - your club and landy's are missing you

UPDATE

Well on my way home last night bumped into Masayo and had a quick chat, so i did not get to see Josh but is information i got from her.
Apparently the op was much bigger than expected and has put a severe drain on Josh - he is sleeping most of the time and very weak and not talking (???) . I will try to see him for 5 min's today or tomorrow and relay all the good wishes he's had so far, if i can sneak past his mom...
People, now is the time to pray - he needs it.
Further update once I have one

Good idea Inc, Louis is this something you can organise being the closest to the hospital? I'll transfer some dollars into your account!

a suggestion was to pay for his tv, as he'll find it difficult to read a magazine etc. i will find out about flowers etc and get back to you.
surely the club can pay for it but we can't do eftpos or internet banking (club not set up for that) , so stevo - might call on you to pay then club will reimburse you later.
I'll try to suss everything out today.

In the meantime thanks for your concern and i'll pass all the good wishes on to him.

For those who don't know, Josh suffers from an ongoing (currently incurable) intestinal disease, and this is the second op he's had to combat it. Let's just say it is serious, but like his 'fender - he will pull through!

Well, i got to see Josh at about 5pm.
He is looking ok (as well as can be after a big op) and is wired up like a HSE D3 with ACE. HDC. ABS. SATNAV, and avery conceivable thing you can think of. Has tens of 1000's of $$ worth of machinery wired up to him. :o

He was looking very tired and i could see he's very drained, but he still has his sense of humour and should come through fine - given some time obviously.

I got the idea flowers won't really hack it (he's not that kind of person) but he did hint that we can fix his locker and install the radio!!! :D
Somehow i think we should get Masayo some flowers - she has been through a lot with him as well. Josh has games and magazines to keep him busy but says he's too tired to bother. We should get him a card from GCLRO.....
As far as the op goes - he's been too drugged till now so does'nt quite know the full extent of the outcome, he will speak to doctor later.
I will pop in again on monday and report on further developments.
I did convey all your best wishes and he appreciates it a lot.
It's going to be a long haul, but Josh will come good as usual

Hey Louis, Does Rick have his locker ready to fit? I will chuck in $50 towards the fitting, and I'm sure it will not take too many other members to do the same before we have the funds needed. We can then get the car to Ricks and the locker installed before he gets out. I'm also happy to do any work required on a radio install. Just let me know how i can help.

Camo

Yep count me in for 50-100 bucks for fitting. With a few of us we will be able to get the locker fitted for him id say

Heya guys thanks heaps for all the well wishes and sms/calls.. is very much appreciated and does help to know you've got good mates out there when down in the dumps.

Feeling a lot better as of saturday... had most of the D3 electronics removed and now doen to just one 30k vacuum pump (seriously) which will stay attached when i go home... which if all goes wells may be tuesday as everything is working internally the way it's meant too and eating solid food as of today.

As Louis said, i've got crohns and this latest op was a biggie... my surgeon is extremely pleased with himself (the smug you-know-what) which i'm happy about. The op to remove part of my bowel usually takes 2hrs but as everything was so screwed up from previous ops and from the illness went for 5hrs. Did 3 resections and even scored a free gall bladder removal while he was in there as would be too dangerous to do later down the track if anything ever went wrong.

So extremely happy is an under-statement.

Will take another couple weeks recovery at home once out and see how things go but will be a good couple months before i get offroad again i think.

Thanks again everyone for everything :D Catch up at the AGM if all goes well

Hey Josh, kind of know what you're going thru, my Mum was diagnosed a few years ago. One side of the family has a legend about the 'McLean gut' which of course was probably crohns going back many generations. I started noticing in my late 20's that not all foods, erm, agree with me anymore. I'm still no saint.

Glad to her you are on the mend Josh and will swing by to say hi when I get back next week. Sounds like you have properly been in the wars so hope this most recent round of surgery does what it needs to do;)

Also, if I am not too late, put me down for some locker $ assistance too;) Can transfer from here so whoever is organising, let me know bank details.

All the best, Mick Ems and the kids.....and Ailsa..........here she is doing fine which is great and appreciate the update mate especially whilst you are lying ill on a hopital bed;):)

That side of my family were from country Victoria, around Swan Hill area, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a link, the Irish like to breed and spread afar!
