The 98 defender aircon dribbles on the floor.
I have pulled out and ensured that drainage hoses are definately clear.for some reason condensate drips down at rear of fans and not out drainage hoses as intended. Have blown back with compressed air where drain hoses attach but no Joy!Is there a crack in the body of the reservoir or what?Would like to hear aulro wisdom on the subject before removing the unit to investigate,Thanks,

My 94' 300tdi Defender has just developed a "dribble" on the passneger floor, and I checked that it wasn't the kids! Actually, after removing all fan covers and checking the drains I beleive the problem lies in the seal around the coolant pipe entering the actual evaporator box, and the condensed water dribbles out when cornering, etc. Knowing Landrover you will probably have to remove the whole unit to replace the seal. If you discover a solution, let me know.

It may be the seal where the pipes enter the box, if it is then just plug it with some gooey stuff

It may also be the pipe insulation itself - the suction pipe gets quite cold and if the insulation is not sealed it will drip.

The drain pan - unlikely for it to be cracked - only real way to check is have the fans running and pop some tacl on the box to see if there are any damp spots (no rude remarks please ;)) - also the powder should - puff if there are any air leaks

Or .................the system could be undercharged causing the coil to freeze - then when the system is off there is too much water for the drains to deal with

Just a quick one: on mine it is caused by water condensing on the actual pipes that connect to the unit, I'm going to cover them with some of that foam tubing and cable ties to stop air circulating over them and the moisture in the air condensing on them. (another "to do")
