Has anyone used centre diff parts from the Shop in Melbourne.
I am reconditioning an LT95 centre diff and the cost of parts from them for the gears and shafts are half the price of any of the other suppliers.
I recall quite a few years ago they were getting parts from Iran that were evil and lost their hard facing in a couple of thousand ks.

Another question is the thrusts in the centre diff used to be hardened now days the suppliers supply copper ones I would of thought that this was bad??

Thanks

Its a loooong time ago now, but the original thrusts were spring steel.
The bronze ( not copper) thrusts are much thicker and AFAIR, the diff case has to be machined to suit them.
The bronze thrusts are much more tolerant of wheel spin than the hardened ones which would break up.

Remember if you spin one front ( or rear) wheel the speed differential between the front and rear axle can be great which causes the centre diff planetaries to spin fast.
At the same time you should fit a one piece cross shaft.

Phillip
I tried to get a 1 piece cross shaft today but the guys in Sydney couldnt supply one. I tried to ring Jack Mac but never got to it do you have any idea where you can get them.
I had 4x4s in Sydney wanting to charge me $160 odd for 2 piece shaft and I presume that they were not genuine.
