As some of you may be aware, I recently bought a Range Rover P38. Two and half weeks later the EAS has failed. The suspension will not rise. I rang the dealer and told him it was buggered. After a few phone calls he finally agreed to send it to get it fixed. We took it to a reputable Land Rover dealer here in Brisbane. He looked at and said the compressor had burnt out. The fuse had been replaced with a wire ( not by me) and caused the compressor and wiring to burn out.
The dealer says it was fine and nothing wrong with the car. He was told by a LR technician that there was a leek and so the compressor was continually working. He then argues with the technician that the suspension is supposed to lower over night it normal.
Now I have it in Black and white from the office of fair trading that the vehicle IS covered. I have had it less than a month and has travelled under 1000 KLMS. (So I think I have him by the short and curleys there)
So is it supposed to lower down over night with out being directed to( by pushing the button)
Was the hard wiring of the fuse a fire risk?

When the car is locked, the suspension will self level to a certain degree (it checks every 6 hours from memory) - if it's parked on uneven ground, it will eventually level itself all the way to the stops.
If it has a leak, then the affected corner will drop down overnight.

I don't really know how replacing the fuse with wire would burn out the compressor but maybe the compressor was on the way out anyway & drawing too much current, hence blowing the fuse.

I cannot see why it's not covered under warranty, unless there's a get out of gaol card the dealer is holding up his sleeve.

If it drops down overnight its either a air leak (the vevicle will keep levelling its self down if one corner has a leak) or a fault with the driver box.
Try leaving the vehicle with a door open & if one corner goes down then its a air leak (very common)
