I just got this as a PM from someone on the forum. It had Ace's name at the top too but don't reckon it's from him:
Hey there.
Sorry to msg you out of the blue. Here's the thing.
I wrote a book together with a friend. My boyfriend keeps saying it's ****. I think he's just jealous tho.
He's a big time poster here so I told him I'm going to pick a random guy and ask him, and we ended up betting on it.
Thanks.
What's this about?

Threads have been done on the same topic. Everyone got it. They have been deleted from the system. It's not a virus, just a boring book. Enough said (the other thread is locked). :nazilock:

I opened the page but it seems to be just a story.
My virus checker didn't do anything, so I hope it was safe to open it.

Sorry for doing a new post when one was already in progress.
I got to the PM before I got to page 3 of the new posts listing.
Should have looked first. :(

a weird one really... seems to be legit in regards to it being a book but spammed the whole system so we have deleted the user.
I assume maybe there is a virus or something hidden in one of the pages.

Ive just gotten it in 3 other forums I frequent. It appears to be some kind of new spam bot. Not sure how its doing what its doing Unless its got someone generating new user accounts on a forum for it then letting it loose on the members list in which case IT might even just be a really well written macro.

best to delete and not bother opening, I read the first line and thought it was just dribble.

I think it is safe to read. I think the PM is a forum software hack rather than a virus.
I went to the website and had a look and checked out their forum and even made the obvious post and it didn't ring any of my security bells.
Cheers

I read some parts of it - it was an OK read as far as I went, even had a sex scene! She should post on writing.com or somewhere.
I'm virus-checking now but so far nothing.
So I assume the originators signed up and then sent the same email to everyone as a private message. This is the first time I've had that on a forum - is it a new tactic?
