I have tried all the other series 1 forums out there in cyberspace .. no luck .

The gauge is JAEGER brand and similar gauges were seen on other pommie cars of the 30's to 50's . There must be one out there somewhere . I may have some goodies for swaps .. what do you need ?

I found one by having a regular search on eBay for Jaeger and selecting "title and description" and "available to Australia" in the advanced search options. I also selected the email me daily for 6 months.

You have to sift through lots of stuff for Citroen and Peugeot as their instruments are also Jaeger. It was so successful I almost bought a fuel/oil level gauge from a Rover P3 which were also used on the Land Rover prototypes.

The good thing is that lots of Land Rover enthusiasts (especially the Brits) are parochial and only search Land Rover and their country ebay.

Try item: 140173634398 - its off an MGA so 1950's vintage but you will have to change the chrome bezel.

Thanks

I did try EBAY and have been looking there on and off . There was one for an Austin 7 that looked OK , but on closer scrutiny ,it had the markings the opposite way round to a 80" . The face markings on these gauges e.g., 1/4 1/2 , are not linear , the gap gets smaller - larger as it goes along . Some of them are opposite for some weird reason . I have heaps of sender units .
