indicator

Hope you guys can help me.
The Problem:-
My indicator has lost the ability to stay in either the rht or lft hand position when I'm attempting to indicate where I'm going.:wacko:I have to hold the indicator until I'm at least halfway round the corner.Its really starting to **** me off:wallbash:
Has anyone experienced this problem.
Have a 92 tdi.

Have you had the steering wheel off? There was a post recently about the self-canceling switch not being positioned properly.

Edit: Hmm, might not be related. The thread was talking about self-canceling only working in one direction.
